Unidentified body found in aircraft wheel well after flight from Japan

A grim discovery was made at Kuala Lumpur International Airport when a body was found in the wheel well of a plane arriving from Tokyo.

Maintenance staff alerted authorities after noticing a strange odor emanating from the landing gear area during a routine check. Upon investigation, they found the remains of an individual, believed to be a man in his 20s, dressed in a white shirt and jeans.

Initial police assessments suggest the body had been there for at least 72 hours. No identification documents were found on the deceased. The compartment where the body was discovered is a sealed area housing the landing gear, known to be a dangerous place for stowaways due to extreme conditions like lack of oxygen and risk of falling.

This incident is not isolated. Similar cases have been reported globally, including one in June at London Gatwick Airport where a man's body was found in the wheel well of a flight from Morocco. Investigations into the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding this latest discovery are ongoing.
