Up to 11 Hours Without Power: Northern and Southern Districts Face Scheduled Cuts July 19-20

Residents in specific districts of La Libertad, Cajamarca, and Arequipa, Peru, are set to face temporary electricity disruptions between July 19 and 20. Hidrandina and Sociedad Eléctrica del Sur Oeste (SEAL), the respective distribution companies, announced the planned outages are for essential maintenance on the electrical infrastructure.

The interruptions will not affect entire cities but will target particular zones during pre-established hours. In Arequipa, the Historic Center will be without power from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, for work on the La Marina circuit. Several districts in the Atico, Mariano Nicolás Valcárcel, Ocoña, Río Grande, and Yanaquihua areas will also experience outages during this time.

In La Libertad, the Moche district faces an extended outage lasting up to 11 hours on Sunday, July 19, affecting areas like the Industrial Park South and the Huaca del Sol y la Luna. On Monday, July 20, parts of the San Andrés I Etapa urbanization in Trujillo province will have a shorter outage from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., impacting key avenues like España and Larco.

Cajamarca will also see programmed cuts on Sunday, July 19, with details available on the companies' official channels. The companies urge users to consult the official schedules to make necessary arrangements, especially those working remotely or relying on electrical equipment. They also recommend charging electronic devices in advance and disconnecting sensitive appliances before power is restored to prevent damage from voltage fluctuations.
