Update on Discovery of Hundreds of Weapons at Jaksel School; Students Temporarily Attend Classes Remotely

An investigation is ongoing into the discovery of hundreds of firearms and soft guns found in a room at the Harapan Ibu School Foundation in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. Police are examining the purpose of the weapons' importation and the procedures for their storage.

The legal counsel for the foundation, Alvon Kurnia Palma, has refuted claims of an ownership dispute or any internal conflicts among the school's founders. He asserted that the school was established with the primary goal of providing education and that the founders' vision remains focused on nurturing righteous children. "There is no conflict among the founders themselves," Alvon stated during a press conference, pointing to the continued involvement of several original founders.

Palma also addressed allegations that the discovered weapons were connected to a shooting extracurricular activity at the school. He challenged those making the claim to provide proof, warning against attempts to legitimize untrue statements. Palma noted that the police have already stated the findings are unrelated to any school shooting club. He further commented on Suryo, a foundation trustee, who was allegedly aware of the shooting activity, stating that Suryo, at 104 years old, had limitations in his ability to approve or be fully aware of such matters.
