Upgrade to J. K. Tyl Theatre’s New Stage postponed after project costs rise

Plzeň has postponed its planned renovation of the New Stage at the J. K. Tyl Theatre after the project became more expensive.

The work had been scheduled for the summer holidays. It was intended to create step-free access to the auditorium and adapt seats for wheelchair users and others with mobility difficulties.

The plan also included a covered atrium between the New Stage buildings, which could have been used for exhibitions. The original plan has now been dropped and the project delayed.
