UPSA ranks among Bolivia's top 10 most responsible organizations

The Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra (UPSA) has solidified its reputation for responsible practices, securing a spot in the top 10 organizations in Bolivia according to the MERCO ESG 2026 ranking. This recognition highlights UPSA's strong performance in environmental sustainability, ethics, and corporate governance, reaffirming its dedication to societal impact and responsible management.

The university achieved the tenth position in the overall General Ranking MERCO ESG 2026, which assesses companies on environmental, social, ethical, and governance criteria. UPSA also ranked seventh for environmental responsibility, twelfth for internal, client, and societal engagement, and tenth for ethics and corporate governance. This consistent performance underscores UPSA's institutional strategy focused on sustainability and value creation for its stakeholders.

UPSA Rector Lauren Müller de Pacheco emphasized that this achievement reflects the collective efforts of the entire university community. "This recognition reaffirms that our mission goes beyond training excellent professionals. We aim to cultivate ethical individuals committed to society and aware of the impact they can generate through their professions. Sustainability and institutional responsibility are integral to our understanding of education," she stated.

The university's commitment to sustainability is evident in its various initiatives. The UPSA Green program promotes recycling and responsible resource use. Its campus features over a thousand trees, energy-efficient LED lighting, solar panels, and smart irrigation systems. Socially, UPSA supports scholarship programs, community projects, research on female leadership, and gender equality initiatives, alongside cultural and sports activities that contribute to regional and national development.

In terms of governance, UPSA operates as a transparent, non-profit foundation established by CAINCO, reinvesting resources into the university community. Its strategic vision, outlined in the Horizon 2034 Plan, drives educational innovation, internationalization, research, digital transformation, and stronger ties with businesses and society, positioning UPSA to meet future challenges. MERCO ESG is a leading monitor in Ibero-America for evaluating corporate sustainability through stakeholder perceptions and objective data.
