URBA Top 14: On an afternoon when rugby called for justice, Hindú tightened the playoff race

Hindú turned a 43-37 thriller against Alumni into a fresh twist in the URBA Top 14 playoff race. The win kept the club in fifth place, but brought it within two points of Alumni in third and one of San Isidro Club, which sits between them.

The match in Don Torcuato delivered 80 points and the kind of contest its billing promised. Alumni controlled the first half and led at the interval. It also held a comfortable advantage for part of the second half, before Hindú launched its response.

The home side attacked with the force associated with its traditional style, overturning the match and producing a dramatic finish. Hindú ultimately overwhelmed Alumni, but failed to add the couple of scores that could have denied the visitors a bonus point. That point kept Alumni two points ahead in the table rather than one.

Newman and CASI remained secure near the top of the standings. With five rounds left, Los Tilos was also watching the battle, having mounted a surprising recovery and sitting five points behind Hindú.

The seven matches in the 21st round were marked by the message "Justice for Fede." It referred to the trial beginning in Paris over responsibility for the 2022 killing of Federico Martín Aramburú.
