Uruguayan singer Lucas Sugo suspends performances after daughter's death

Uruguayan singer Lucas Sugo has made the difficult decision to suspend all his scheduled musical performances through October 2, following the recent death of his eldest daughter, Florencia Victoria Sugo Da Rosa, at the age of 23. The announcement was formally communicated by his professional team via digital platforms.

The suspension is intended to provide the artist and his family with the necessary space and privacy to navigate their profound grief. Florencia had been undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2025. Her battle with the illness, described as a carcinoma of unknown primary site, involved complex treatments and clinical trials, including extended periods at medical centers in the United States.

Sentimientos Producciones, Sugo's management company, issued a statement expressing gratitude for the understanding, respect, and affection received during this difficult time. They confirmed that producers and organizers of the August and September events have been notified, and efforts will be made to reschedule the affected dates. This decision impacts concerts planned in the Argentine provinces of Chaco and Santa Fe, including shows in Las Breñas, Charata, and Las Toscas.

The bond between Lucas Sugo and his daughter was publicly evident, notably through the song "La flor de mi vida." He composed this piece in 2018 to celebrate her 15th birthday. In recent statements to the Uruguayan outlet El País, Sugo revealed that the song's meaning had drastically changed, making it emotionally unbearable to perform live.
