US 'coercion and bullying' will 'complicate' Iran talks: Pezeshkian tells Pak Army Chief Munir

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian urged Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir to adopt a new approach toward Iran, stating that "coercion and bullying" by the United States will complicate diplomatic efforts. Pezeshkian emphasized the need for the U.S. to fulfill its commitments to Iran based on international law.

During a meeting with Munir, Pezeshkian highlighted the resilience of the Iranian nation and expressed hope for achieving goals outlined in a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries. He stressed the importance of regional peace and security, advocating for enhanced cooperation with Islamic nations in economic, political, and security spheres. "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready for any cooperation and interaction in the economic, political, and security dimensions with Islamic countries and neighbours," he stated.

Pezeshkian also underscored the significance of unity among Islamic countries, viewing it as a crucial deterrent against the perceived conspiracies of the "Zionist regime" and enemies of Islam. He expressed optimism that Pakistan's diplomatic efforts would contribute to the growth and dignity of the region and the broader Islamic world.

He also noted the positive trend in bilateral cooperation, citing the "deep historical, religious and cultural commonalities between Pakistan and Iran" as valuable assets for navigating current complexities and building a brighter future.
