The task force recently visited two major companies, PT Lung Cheong Brothers Industrial and PT Parkland World Indonesia, to investigate the core problems associated with worker recruitment. Sugi Hardono, head of the task force, stated that the team's direct sampling aims to uncover the origins of the frequent issues involving illegal fees in hiring processes. This initiative is a directive from the Regent of Serang, Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah, to liberate job seekers from the clutches of brokers and shield companies from engaging in prohibited practices. Hardono emphasized a persuasive approach, involving the dissemination of local policies against illegal recruitment fees and efforts to understand the challenges faced within factory environments. Both companies have expressed support for the regional government's policy to tackle this persistent problem, hoping it will benefit businesses and alleviate the financial burden on job seekers. Diana Ardhianty Utami, head of the Serang Manpower and Transmigration Office, noted that, based on observations, both companies adhere to standard operating procedures for employment. She explained that companies regularly report job vacancies through the Serang Bahagia Digital application, and the office's role is to provide data on job seekers with employment seeker cards (AK1). The selection and recruitment process itself is entirely managed by the companies. Utami acknowledged that labor brokerage is a complex dynamic in Serang's employment sector, influenced by numerous internal and external factors.
