'US-Iran peace deal could benefit entire region,' PM tells Pezeshkian in Eid call

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, extending Eid greetings and voicing optimism for a potential peace agreement between Iran and the United States. The Prime Minister's Office reported that the 30-minute call focused on regional stability and bilateral relations. Sharif conveyed his hope that a peace deal, one that upholds the dignity of the Iranian nation, would be finalized soon. He articulated that such an accord could significantly boost Iran's economic capabilities and foster prosperity across the region. As a neighboring and brotherly nation, Pakistan affirmed its unwavering support for Iran, envisioning a bright future for both countries once regional peace is established. President Pezeshkian, in turn, expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Sharif and Pakistan's military chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, for their crucial contributions to regional peace efforts. He acknowledged the involvement of other regional players, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye, in these initiatives. Sharif also reiterated Pakistan's solidarity with Iran regarding the loss of lives during the ongoing crisis. In a separate call, Prime Minister Sharif extended Eid greetings to Kuwait's Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Mubarak Al Sabah, highlighting Pakistan's commitment to regional peace through its "humble and sincere efforts." The Crown Prince of Kuwait affirmed his country's full support for Pakistan's mediation endeavors. Prime Minister Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan's condemnation of attacks on Kuwait and expressed solidarity with its leadership.
