The United States has reportedly proposed lifting sanctions and ending a naval blockade against Iran in exchange for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and a cessation of attacks by Iranian proxies. This offer was conveyed to Tehran through Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, during his recent visit to Iran, according to Saudi state-owned Al-Hadath.

The proposal, based on a previously discussed memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran, outlines that the US would be willing to lift sanctions and end the blockade if Iran ensures the free passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz and halts its proxies' regional activities. Iran's Supreme National Security Council secretary, Mohsen Rezaee, informed Munir that Tehran would undertake internal consultations before providing a response.
