The United States is preparing what Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has termed an "economic D-Day" against Iran, characterizing it as the largest financial offensive ever unleashed against an adversary. Bessent emphasized that nations choosing appeasement policies toward the Iranian regime should reconsider, warning that those who tie their destiny to Tehran risk becoming global pariahs.

Responding to Bessent's statements, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi took to X to challenge the U.S. narrative. Gharibabadi questioned the logic behind imposing such a massive financial offensive if, as the U.S. claims, Iran's military power has been dismantled, its military sites destroyed, and its nuclear program buried. "Is this a victory or an admission of defeat by the USA?" he asked, suggesting the U.S. position was contradictory.
