US President Signs Decree Establishing U.S. Space Academy

The President of the United States has signed an executive order to establish the U.S. Space Academy, a new military institution dedicated to training personnel for the nation's space endeavors.

The announcement was made by President Donald Trump during a visit to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. He stated that the decision stems from the rapid growth of the U.S. Space Force and the burgeoning commercial space industry, as well as America's ambitious plans for lunar and deep space exploration.

"Clearly, we need to train and prepare a whole generation of skilled military personnel, engineers, civilian operators, and all other specialists to do what we need to do," the President remarked, highlighting the necessity for a dedicated educational institution.

The U.S. Space Academy will prepare specialists for the U.S. Space Force, NASA, and the commercial space sector. During the event, President Trump also presented the crew of the Artemis II mission with the Congressional Space Medal of Honor, following their recent lunar flyby.
