US Strikes Kill 38, Injure Over 400 in Iran, Targeting Civilian Infrastructure

At least 38 people were killed and more than 400 injured in US strikes across several Iranian provinces, Iran's Health Ministry reported Friday. The attacks reportedly targeted civilian infrastructure, including bridges, power facilities, and the maritime control tower at Chabahar's Shahid Kalantari Port. The strikes, occurring late Thursday into early Friday, affected provinces such as Hormozgan, Bushehr, Sistan and Baluchestan, Khuzestan, and Lorestan. Among the casualties were three women and one minor, with 47 injured individuals still hospitalized.

While the maritime control tower at Shahid Kalantari Port was destroyed, the port's berths and cargo-handling facilities remained intact without reported casualties. US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the destruction of the surveillance tower, identifying it as part of an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) network used for monitoring commercial shipping in the Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz. Iranian news agency IRNA indicated that technical teams are assessing damage and working to resume port activities after safety checks.

Major damage was reported in Hormozgan province, where strikes hit six bridges in Khamir County, killing seven people and injuring nine. The strikes disrupted transport links between Bandar Abbas, Bandar Khamir, and Lar, with emergency teams working on alternative routes. In Bandar Abbas, a strike on a residential area killed one person and injured eight, while a railway branch station sustained damage, injuring two. Other provinces like Bushehr, Khuzestan, and Lorestan also reported strikes and damage, with authorities assessing the extent of the impact.
