US Vice President JD Vance dials PM Modi, discusses deepening India-US strategic ties

U.S. Vice President JD Vance spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, with both leaders discussing ways to further deepen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. The conversation focused on key areas of cooperation, including trade, defense, critical and emerging technologies, energy security, and critical minerals.

According to a press release from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in Delhi, the telephone call took place on August 8. During the discussion, Modi and Vance reviewed the sustained momentum in high-level engagements between the two nations. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their existing partnership across various sectors.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest. This indicates a broad scope of discussion beyond bilateral ties, encompassing international affairs relevant to both countries.
