Uzodimma: Tinubu is Nigeria's Lee Kuan Yew, His Performance Will Earn Him Second Term in 2027

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has drawn a parallel between Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Singapore's late founding leader, Lee Kuan Yew, asserting that Tinubu's bold economic reforms position him for a second term in 2027. Uzodimma made the comparison during a dinner in Owerri, celebrating the end of a three-day media inspection of federal and state projects in Imo.

"In President Bola Tinubu, we have another Lee Kuan Yew," Uzodimma declared, commending the president's readiness to tackle Nigeria's economic challenges since assuming office on May 29, 2023. He stated that the country has entered a new era of development, moving away from an "old order" to a "new order" under Tinubu's decisive leadership.

Drawing a biblical analogy, Uzodimma likened Nigeria's pre-reform economic state to the Israelites' bondage in Egypt, suggesting Tinubu's reforms were essential for liberating the nation from economic stagnation. While acknowledging the initial hardships caused by these reforms, he insisted they are yielding positive results, particularly through increased revenue allocations to states for infrastructure and human capital development.

Uzodimma credited the "Renewed Hope Agenda" for the ongoing transformation in Imo State, citing investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and technology. He expressed strong conviction that Nigerians would reward Tinubu with re-election in 2027 as the benefits of his policies become increasingly apparent. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, also commended Uzodimma's infrastructure development in Imo, noting the effective collaboration between federal and state governments in implementing the agenda.
