Valdivia to Host Major Trail Running Race with International Competitors

Valdivia is set to become a major hub for South American trail running as it hosts the Torrencial competition from June 26 to 28. This event will bring together prominent national and international runners for demanding races across the scenic terrain of southern Chile.

The competition will feature athletes from Chile, Peru, and Mexico, underscoring its regional significance. Torrencial has established itself as a key fixture on the outdoor sports calendar, drawing a diverse crowd of seasoned trail runners and enthusiastic amateurs alike.

Notable participants include Chile's Sofía Cofré, Leonor Calvo, Katherine Cañete, and Nicolás Benavides. International competitors Reyna Rivera from Mexico and Peru's Leida Díaz and Víctor Canto will also vie for top honors. The athletes will tackle various distances, ranging from 21 kilometers to the ultimate challenge of 100 kilometers.

Beyond the races, the event includes community-focused activities, such as a social run on Friday afternoon in Parque Saval. This aims to foster a sense of community among runners and fans before a weekend dedicated to sport, nature, and the outdoor lifestyle.
