Valextra Taichung store reopens, continuing Milanese architectural aesthetic

Valextra, the renowned Italian luxury leather goods brand with nearly 90 years of history, has celebrated the reopening of its boutique at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in Taichung. The event featured fashion celebrity Melody, who attended wearing a white off-the-shoulder dress paired with an ice-blue Iside Tin bag.

The newly renovated store embraces Valextra's heritage of architectural aesthetics, a theme originating from its Milanese founding in 1937. The interior design prominently uses parchment white and Valextra green, complemented by natural marble and metal materials to create a contemporary gallery-like atmosphere with curved display walls.

Coinciding with the boutique's relaunch, Valextra introduced its Gio Tote summer collection. Named in homage to Italian architect Gio Ponti, the collection reflects his principles of geometric order, light proportions, and modern design. The bags feature Valextra's signature minimalist style, characterized by a V-shaped cut on the sides, the classic black Costa lacquered edges, and a central leather strap with a metal clasp, all contributing to a structured, architectural look.

Beyond the Gio Tote, Valextra's summer offerings include the Canvas series, which blends cotton canvas with Millepunte calfskin, and the Raffia series, combining natural raffia with classic leather craftsmanship for a relaxed Italian leisure feel. The brand also expanded its range of small leather goods, including lipstick cases, compact mirrors, and combs, all finished with signature details like the black Costa lacquered edges.
