Valio CEO: Saudi Investor's Impact on Estonian Dairy Market Yet to Be Seen

Maido Solovjov, CEO of Valio Eesti AS, has welcomed the acquisition of the bankrupt E-Piim Tootmine's factories in Paide and Põltsamaa, stating that a respectable price was offered for the assets. However, he cautioned that the full impact of the Saudi Arabian investor's entry into the Estonian dairy market is yet to be determined.

"One period has ended for E-Piim, and a new, hopefully better one is beginning. But I stress this in capital letters – it is still too early to make any assessment," Solovjov stated. He highlighted that the dairy sector, not just in Estonia but also internationally, will be closely monitoring the developments.

While the sale provides a potential path forward for the troubled E-Piim, the long-term consequences for the local dairy industry remain a subject of observation.
