Vannacci says his party is the “natural interlocutor” for Italy’s center-right alliance

Roberto Vannacci says Futuro Nazionale is ready to talk with almost anyone, but not everyone. “The future? For now, I am thinking about Futuro Nazionale,” he said, describing a party with “principles and values that it will not betray or negotiate.”

Speaking on Rete4’s È sempre Cartabianca, Vannacci said his party would discuss cooperation with forces willing to accept those principles. He presented Futuro Nazionale as “the natural interlocutor of this faded center-right alliance,” while saying he could not imagine talks with Nicola Fratoianni, Angelo Bonelli or Elly Schlein.

His comments came in response to a question about a possible alliance with Giorgia Meloni. Vannacci said Futuro Nazionale would engage with all political forces that agreed to its non-negotiable principles and values.

He was also asked about warnings from Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, who has not ruled out possible Russian attempts to influence Italy’s next elections. Vannacci said foreign powers had tried to influence elections in every country within their respective spheres of influence. “It is no one’s news,” he said, adding that there was no reason to be surprised by influence or pressure as long as it remained legal.
