Vardy joins Burnley on season-long contract

Jamie Vardy has joined Burnley on a season-long contract after leaving Italian club Cremonese in the summer.

The 39-year-old former Leicester City and England striker is Leicester's record Premier League scorer, with 145 goals. He spent 13 years at Leicester after joining from non-league Fleetwood Town in 2012, scoring 200 goals in 500 appearances in all competitions.

Vardy now joins a Burnley side that has not won in five matches and sits bottom of the Championship. Burnley were relegated from the Premier League last season and lost 2-1 at home to Bristol City on Saturday after conceding twice in the final 10 minutes.
