Vaud party leadership advises minister Dittli against re-election bid

Valérie Dittli, a member of the Vaud cantonal government, has been advised by her party's leadership to forgo a new mandate in the 2027 elections. The presidency committee of the Centre Vaud party recommended Dittli not seek re-election, a position confirmed by party president Giancarlo Sergi.

Sergi explained that the recommendation was made to enable better collaboration with other political parties. The committee conveyed this decision to Dittli during a meeting on July 14, which she attended. Despite the party leadership's stance, Dittli may still choose to run for the government, possibly as an independent candidate, if she receives support at the party congress on September 2.
