Venezuela Democracy Talks Begin Amid Secrecy and U.S. Influence

A dialogue intended to foster democracy in Venezuela has commenced under the auspices of the United States. However, crucial details surrounding the talks, including the precise location, timing, delegation members, and specific discussion points, have not been revealed. The government's delegation is reportedly led by Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly, while the opposition side is represented by former legislator Dinorah Figuera. Figuera leads a faction that upholds the legitimacy of the 2015 National Assembly, previously controlled by the opposition. Sources suggest that former lawmakers Jorge Millán, Marco Aurelio Quiñones, and Juan Miguel Matheus may accompany Figuera.
