Venezuela promotes 58 army officers to general ranks

Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, has authorized the promotion of 58 officers within the Bolivarian Army to various general ranks. The promotions, formalized through four resolutions from the Ministry of Defense, are effective as of July 5.

Among the elevated ranks, two division generals, Javier Enrique Magallanes and Miguel Antonio Yilales Arteaga, have been promoted to the rank of major general in the command category. This signifies a significant advancement in their military careers.

Further promotions include 27 brigadier generals who have now attained the rank of division general, also within the command category. The list of these officers includes prominent names such as Yoel José Corcega Caraballo, Ezequiel Ramón Espinoza Escobar, and Okler Roberto Yustiz Castillo, among others.

Additionally, 29 colonels have been promoted to the rank of brigadier general, operating under the command category. This group features officers like Gustavo Gregorio Godoy Briceño, Jhan Frank Romero Dale, and Ángel David Navas Rumbos. These advancements follow earlier promotions of 112 army members to the rank of colonel.
