Venezuela receives over seven tons of humanitarian aid from Panama

More than seven tons of humanitarian aid have arrived in Venezuela from Panama, delivered to Simón Bolívar International Airport in La Guaira. The shipment contains essential supplies organized through a citizen-led initiative to support those impacted by the double earthquake that struck on June 24.

The collection, sorting, packaging, and initial distribution efforts were managed by the Consular Section of the Venezuelan Embassy in Panama. The transport was made possible through operational alliances with Uniworld and Ocean Pacific Logistics.

The flight's departure from Panama coincided with the 243rd anniversary of the birth of Simón Bolívar, the Liberator, integrating the logistics into institutional commemorative activities. Venezuela's consular representative in Panama, Julio Rafael Chávez Meléndez, personally escorted the cargo to the Venezuelan coast, formalizing its transfer to regional authorities before returning on the same flight.

Chávez highlighted the diplomatic cooperation that enabled the operation. Security teams immediately transported the aid to temporary shelters and vulnerable areas for distribution to earthquake victims. The Venezuelan government, led by acting President Delcy Rodríguez, expressed gratitude through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Panamanian citizens and private entities involved in collecting and sending the assistance.
