Venezuela's PSUV backs Delcy Rodríguez on oil deals with US

Venezuela's United Socialist Party (PSUV) has declared its unwavering support for acting president Delcy Rodríguez following the signing of significant oil agreements with the United States. The party affirmed its commitment to national sovereignty and the well-being of the Venezuelan people.

In a statement, the PSUV emphasized the importance of utilizing all available constitutional means to harness the country's vast hydrocarbon reserves for national development. The party voiced its backing for the productive recovery mechanisms that prioritize national interests and aim to mitigate the impact of over a decade of economic sanctions and unilateral coercive measures.

Rodríguez herself highlighted the agreements as a product of strengthened Venezuela-U.S. relations, anticipating a substantial flow of investment for the recovery and reconstruction of critical infrastructure within the oil industry. She expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the U.S. government for their willingness to engage in this accord, describing it as a historic milestone.

The agreements are expected to significantly increase oil production through the involvement of private operators. Plans include the development of 17 strategic fields with proven reserves of 65 billion barrels, attracting over $100 billion in investment, and generating more than $209 billion in state revenues. These investments are intended to contribute not only to the recovery of the oil sector but also to broader national development goals.

The PSUV stressed that the party remains firmly united behind its political leadership, navigating this new phase with strategic intelligence, popular unity, and revolutionary consciousness.
