Venezuelan and Ecuadorian indicted for violent armored car heist; suspects now in custody

Santiago, Chile – A Venezuelan and an Ecuadorian national have been formally charged in connection with a violent armored car robbery that occurred in the Franklin neighborhood. The prosecution has attributed charges of aggravated robbery resulting in injury, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, and receiving stolen property to the suspects.

The incident involved an ambush where one assailant reportedly fired shots at the vehicle's occupants. Simultaneously, another individual acted as the driver of a getaway vehicle, which was later found to have been set on fire. The attack resulted in a security guard sustaining serious gunshot wounds.

One of the assailants involved in the robbery was killed at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focusing on the evidence gathered from the crime scene and the recovered vehicle.
