Venezuelan Baseball League Sees Three Trades Involving Five Teams

As the 2026-2027 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) approaches, teams are actively shaping their rosters through player transactions. So far, five franchises have engaged in three separate trades, involving a total of eight players.

The initial move occurred on May 18, when Tigres de Aragua and Bravos de Margarita executed a trade focused on relief pitchers. Cristian Alvarado transitioned from Tigres to Bravos in exchange for Luis Pacheco.

A more significant deal followed on June 22, involving Leones del Caracas and Caribes de Anzoátegui. This four-player exchange saw Leones acquire prospects Josué Briceño (catcher/first baseman) and Raimon Gómez (right-handed pitcher) from Caribes. In return, Caribes received infielders Gabriel Noriega and Orlando Arcia. This trade highlights contrasting strategies, with Caribes acquiring established players while Leones focused on developing talent.

The latest transaction was announced on Monday, with Navegantes del Magallanes acquiring infielder Breyvic Valera from Bravos de Margarita. Valera, who was the Pitcher of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year in the 2024-2025 season, joins Magallanes in exchange for pitcher Junior Guerra. Meanwhile, Tiburones de La Guaira, Cardenales de Lara, and Águilas del Zulia have not yet participated in any player movements.
