Vestas doubles operating profit in second quarter, raises outlook

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has reported strong financial results for the second quarter, more than doubling its operating profit before special items to 446 million euros. This figure represents a significant increase from the 206 million euros recorded in the same period last year.

The improved performance has prompted the company's management to raise its financial expectations for the full year. Vestas now anticipates an operating margin between 7% and 9%, an upward revision from the previously projected 6% to 8%. The operating margin is a key indicator of a company's profitability, showing the portion of revenue remaining after operating costs are deducted.

Despite the enhanced profit outlook, Vestas has maintained its revenue forecast, expecting sales to fall between 20 and 22 billion euros for the year. The company's strong performance in the second quarter signals a positive trajectory for the wind energy sector and its key players.
