Veteran Malaysian actor Kamarool Yusoff dies at age 68

Veteran Malaysian actor Kamarool Yusoff, affectionately known as Cik Man, passed away on Wednesday afternoon at Tanah Merah Hospital in Kelantan. He was 68 years old.

Yusoff, celebrated for his roles in iconic Malay films like "Gila Gila Remaja" and "Rock," was hospitalized after experiencing severe stomach and back pain. His son, Fakhrol, shared that his father initially refused medical attention but was brought to the hospital when the pain became unbearable.

His condition worsened yesterday when he complained of stomach pain and back pain. We urged him to go to the hospital but he initially refused. However, because his pain became unbearable, we brought him to the hospital for treatment yesterday.

Two years prior, Yusoff had suffered a heart attack, though his condition had reportedly stabilized afterward. His daughter, Nurul Najihah Kamarozaman, announced that he would be laid to rest in Kelantan on Thursday.

Following the news of his death, numerous celebrities and public figures, including comedian Shuib Sepahtu and members of the comedy troupe Senario, paid tribute. Malaysia's Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil, lauded Yusoff as a "true legend" who significantly impacted the nation's film industry. He added that the late actor's legacy and contributions would continue to be cherished by audiences.
