Veteran Nam Tae-hee Departs Jeju for New Challenge with Australia's Brisbane Roar

Veteran midfielder Nam Tae-hee is embarking on a new chapter in his career, leaving Jeju United to join the Australian A-League club Brisbane Roar. The 35-year-old has reportedly signed a two-year contract, marking his return to overseas competition after a stint with Jeju.

Brisbane Roar hinted at the signing through a social media post featuring Korean text that read, "Our new No. 10, Saturday at 12 PM," accompanied by the message, "See you tomorrow!" This announcement generated excitement among fans anticipating the arrival of a new Korean player.

Nam Tae-hee's move to Australia signifies his departure from Jeju after his contract expires at the end of the current year. His career began overseas at the young age of 18 when he debuted with Valenciennes FC in France in 2009, setting a record as the youngest Korean to play in one of Europe's top five leagues at the time.

Following his time in France, Nam transferred to Lekhwiya SC in Qatar in December 2011. He went on to play for other Qatari clubs, including Al-Duhail SC and Al-Sadd SC, where he achieved significant success. In the summer of 2023, he moved to Japan's J.League, joining Yokohama F. Marinos for a one-year period before this latest move to Australia.
