Veterinarian Enzo Roubaud has shed light on a common concern among pet owners: why dogs cry when left alone. He explained that excessive pampering, such as allowing dogs to sleep in the owner's bed, can foster emotional dependence and lead to separation anxiety.

However, Roubaud cautioned against oversimplifying the issue by blaming owner upbringing. He asserted that separation anxiety stems from multiple causes and that attributing it solely to how a pet was raised is "simplistic and punishing." The veterinarian, who authored "¡Mi perro necesita terapia!" (My Dog Needs Therapy!), highlighted that pre-existing factors in the animal, including genetics, the mother's pregnancy, and early life experiences, play a crucial role in their behavior when isolated.
