A woman's marriage crumbled after discovering her husband's affair with a veterinarian, leading to a lawsuit for emotional distress. The wife accused the veterinarian of engaging in intimate acts with her husband between July and September 2024, including kissing and touching in a parking lot, and dates at fast-food restaurants.

The affair caused a severe rift between the couple, ultimately leading to their divorce in February 2025. The wife sought 700,000 NTD in damages from the veterinarian for disrupting her marriage.

He is my superior and an industry senior. Because I did not dare to offend him, I had intimate behavior with him considering my future.

During the trial, the veterinarian admitted to intimate encounters but claimed she only complied because the husband was her superior and she feared repercussions for her career. She argued they were not in a romantic relationship and she had refused sexual advances.

However, the court found her defense unconvincing. Evidence showed the veterinarian admitted to touching and kissing the husband in a car and continuing intimate behavior in a hotel room. The court ruled that her actions exceeded societal norms for interaction between a man and a woman, significantly harming the wife's marital happiness. She was ordered to pay 250,000 NTD in damages.
