Veterinarians say suspect in hammer attack had brought animals in poor condition to clinics

Several veterinarians recognized the man suspected of attacking Jennifer Brenes with a hammer, according to Costa Rica’s College of Veterinarians.

The professionals reportedly told the college that the suspect had brought animals in poor health to other veterinary consultations. The disclosures concern animals he took for treatment before the attack.

The college presented the reports as new allegations related to the case. A separate account shared on social media said the man who attacked the veterinarian was also the person who had threatened a family with death.
