VIDEO: IKEDC worker rescued after suffering electric shock on Lagos power pole

An Ikeja Electric worker survived an electric shock on a power pole at Gbagada Bus Stop in Lagos, where colleagues worked to bring him down from an elevated ladder.

Video circulating on social media showed two IKEDC field workers struggling to lower the technician. He appeared stuck with his head facing downward and his lower body constrained, but he could still move his arms and body as the rescue continued.

An eyewitness said the worker was not dead after the incident, while also noting that his exact medical condition had not been confirmed at the scene. Commuters and other bystanders gathered around the base of the utility pole as the rescue unfolded.

Ikeja Electric had not released an official statement on the worker’s condition, and calls to its official lines had not been answered or returned when the report was filed.
