VIDEO: Ododo receives rescued kidnap victims at Kogi government house

The four victims rescued from an abduction at an examination center in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, have arrived at the Government House in Lokoja. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo received the school principal, a National Examinations Council official, and two students following their successful rescue.

The governor was joined by heads of the state's security agencies as he welcomed the victims. The rescue operation was a joint effort involving the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Police Force, local vigilantes, and other security operatives. This coordinated action was launched after gunmen attacked an unauthorized examination center and abducted the individuals.

The Kogi State Government had announced the rescue on Thursday, emphasizing that it followed Governor Ododo’s directive. The operation involved intensive efforts to track and apprehend the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has issued a statement defending the reputation of Government Secondary School, Olowa. NECO dismissed claims that the institution is a "miracle centre." The council affirmed that the school is a legitimate public institution owned by the Kogi State Government and has been a consistent examination center for the Senior School Certificate Examination since 2000, operating for over four decades.
