Video of police officer's kick during arrest reported to police watchdog

A video capturing a police officer kicking a man on the ground during an arrest has surfaced on social media, prompting an official complaint.

The incident, which took place on Herredsvej in Aarhus on Saturday evening, is now under investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Authority (DUP). East Jutland Police confirmed they are aware of the circulating video and have notified the DUP.

Police duty officer Morten Hansen stated that the DUP received the report on Sunday morning. Due to the ongoing investigation by the DUP, police officials have refrained from providing further details. It remains unclear what led to the police being at the scene or if anyone sustained injuries during the arrest.

Authorities have also not commented on whether any police personnel have been suspended or taken off duty in connection with the incident depicted in the video. The DUP is handling the investigation, and further information is expected to be released by them.
