VIDEO: Three students rescued in Anambra hostel collapse

Emergency responders launched a rescue operation after a three-storey student hostel, known as Elite Five Star Lodge, collapsed in Amokpala, near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, in Anambra State's Orumba North Local Government Area. The building gave way on Sunday night.

Teams from the state fire service, State Emergency Management Agency, and other relevant agencies are on-site. They have successfully rescued some victims trapped under the rubble. Authorities continue to search for others who may still be trapped within the collapsed structure.

As of Monday afternoon, approximately three victims had been rescued. These individuals are currently receiving medical attention at St. Michael Hospital in Oko. Officials have not yet confirmed the total number of casualties, and investigations into the cause of the collapse are underway. Rescue operations remain ongoing.
