Vietnam: Career orientation program helps students navigate future job market

A career orientation program took place on the morning of June 5, designed to guide students as they stand at the threshold of choosing their fields of study and professions. The event aimed to update attendees on career trends in the digital era and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary for their desired occupations.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Employment Service Center, addressed the students, emphasizing that the future begins with today's decisions. She highlighted that a suitable orientation and a correct choice aligned with one's abilities and passions form the foundation for building a life, realizing dreams, and asserting oneself to family and society.

Thao encouraged students to dare to dream, choose, and take responsibility for their decisions, noting that no one is born knowing their exact path. The program included interactive activities such as "Choose the Right Profession," "Guess the Profession by Gesture," and "Describe the Job," allowing students to explore various career groups. Experts also shared insights on career định hướng, nurturing passions, and setting short and long-term goals, along with the skills needed for career development.

Additionally, students participated in a "HOLLAND - Choose the Right Major" online assessment to explore their personality, interests, and aptitudes. The program is scheduled to continue at several other schools across Ho Chi Minh City throughout June and July.
