Vietnam: Hue Authorities Warn of Fake Appointment Document

Hue authorities have issued a public warning regarding a forged document circulating on social media that falsely claims an appointment for Nguyễn Minh Triết, a member of the Central Party Committee and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. The document, purportedly numbered 252-QĐNS/TW, falsely states that Triết has been approved to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

The Hue Smart City Monitoring and Operations Center confirmed that the document is a fabrication. They stated that the fake document was created by individuals using technology to spread false information, disrupt public order, and cause confusion. The center emphasized that the information is entirely untrue and aims to mislead the public.

Authorities are urging social media users to exercise caution and refrain from sharing, commenting on, or interacting with unverified images and documents. The public is advised to obtain information only from official websites of the Party and State, as well as from legitimate news organizations. Spreading false information intentionally online is a violation of Vietnamese law and will be subject to strict penalties under Decree 174/2026/ND-CP.
