Vietnam military safely disposes of 10 war-era explosive devices

In the central Vietnamese province of Quang Ngai, military forces have successfully collected and neutralized 10 explosive remnants of war. The ordnance, discovered scattered across various locations in Dong Son commune, included bombs and artillery shells of different calibers.

The discovery was prompted by information provided by local residents. Upon receiving the tip, the Dong Son Commune Military Command, in coordination with specialized units from the Provincial Military Command, promptly secured the area and began the process of removal and disposal. The collected items comprised one bomb, two 155mm artillery shells, four 105mm artillery shells, and three 82mm mortar shells.

Officials stated that the timely removal of these dangerous relics is vital for eliminating safety risks, protecting the lives and property of residents, and ensuring security during daily activities and agricultural production. The Provincial Military Command plans to intensify public awareness campaigns about the dangers of unexploded ordnance and advises citizens to report any suspected items to local authorities immediately rather than attempting to move or interfere with them.

In the coming time, the unit will continue to coordinate with functional forces to strengthen propaganda work to raise people's awareness of the risks of insecurity from bombs, mines, and unexploded ordnance left over from the war.
