Vietnam's National Assembly Chairman urges shift from task processing to solution creation

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has called for a fundamental shift in how tasks are approached, urging officials to move from merely processing work to actively creating solutions.

During a leadership meeting on July 6 in Hanoi, Man acknowledged achievements in the first half of the year but also pointed out significant limitations. He specifically noted that the quality of implementation has not kept pace with expectations, failing to yield clear progress or added value. Some advisory functions, he observed, lacked foresight and proactivity.

Man stressed the importance of aligning institutional reform with enhanced execution. He also emphasized the need for discipline to go hand-in-hand with responsibility, ensuring that ultimate success is measured by concrete results and the quality of service provided to National Assembly deputies, constituents, and the public.

Furthermore, Man called for improved advisory quality and modernized working methods. He urged each agency to transition from a reactive, task-processing mindset to one focused on proactive solution-building. Digital transformation and the establishment of a digital National Assembly were also highlighted, alongside stricter discipline and enhanced accountability for leaders. "From now on, we must do things correctly, quickly, and effectively, creating value for the National Assembly and society, because every decision by the National Assembly impacts people's lives and the operations of economic sectors," he concluded.
