Vietnamese Horror Film 'Fire House' Features Streamers Exploring Haunted Mansion

Vietnamese cinema is venturing into the found footage subgenre with the upcoming horror film "Lầu Chú Hỏa" (Fire House), which centers on a group of six streamers investigating a reputedly haunted mansion. The film promises a raw, immersive experience, mirroring the real-time nature of a livestreamed paranormal exploration.

The central narrative follows Chi, played by Trần Kỳ Anh, a vlogger specializing in spiritually charged locations. Chi, portrayed as rational yet increasingly drawn into the mansion's unsettling events, makes her feature film debut in a leading role. She is joined by her fiancé, Thời (Nguyễn Minh Thời), who acts as her protector throughout the terrifying ordeal. The film's ensemble cast also includes Nguyễn Công Nương as Cô đồng Bạch Bạch, a spiritual medium aiming to prove her abilities, and Phụng Hoàng as Nhàn, a seemingly brave but easily scared streamer providing comic relief.

Rounding out the group are Thư (Chi Bảo), a popular streamer known for her rebellious nature and taste for extreme content, and Dũng (Dũng Hà), a TikToker focused on lifestyle and fitness. "Lầu Chú Hỏa" aims to fully leverage the found footage aesthetic, a style rarely explored comprehensively in Vietnamese cinema. The filmmakers drew inspiration from local legends surrounding the Hứa family's abandoned mansion, a place steeped in unexplained supernatural occurrences.

The premise sees the group accepting a challenge to livestream their exploration of the decrepit mansion, driven by the lure of views and prize money. However, their quest for online fame quickly descends into a harrowing fight for survival as the mansion's dark secrets and spectral inhabitants begin to manifest, turning their investigation into a desperate struggle against the unknown.
