Vietnamese man arrested for murdering Vietnamese student in Busan

Busan police have apprehended a Vietnamese man in his 20s on charges of robbery and murder in connection with the death of a Vietnamese female student. The victim was a student at a university in Busan.

The suspect allegedly broke into the victim's home in Jung-gu, Busan, early on August 26. He is accused of threatening the woman with a weapon, tying up her mouth and hands with tape, and stealing cash. During the course of the robbery, the suspect allegedly strangled the victim, causing her death.

Investigators revealed that the suspect and the victim knew each other, both attending the same university in Busan. The crime came to light when a friend of the victim, unable to contact her, visited her home and discovered her body in the bathroom. The friend then reported the incident to the police.

Following the report, police initiated a search for the suspect. He was apprehended at a hospital in Sasang-gu, Busan, on the evening of August 26, around 6:15 PM. It is believed the suspect sought medical attention for injuries he sustained during the commission of the crime.

Police are currently investigating the exact motive behind the murder and plan to seek an arrest warrant for the suspect soon. The investigation aims to clarify the full circumstances of the crime and the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
