Vietnamese Nationals Face Attempted Murder Charges in Croatia

Croatian authorities are investigating two separate violent incidents involving Vietnamese nationals. In the first case, a 33-year-old man faces attempted murder charges for allegedly stabbing a fellow countryman during a brawl.

The stabbing occurred in November 2025, involving multiple Vietnamese nationals. The victim, identified as 23 years old, sustained life-threatening injuries but survived due to prompt medical intervention. The suspect, who was already in custody for his role in the fight, had his pre-trial detention extended due to the risk of flight.

In a separate incident, a 49-year-old man is suspected of attempted murder after allegedly striking and running over a 41-year-old woman with his vehicle. This event reportedly took place in January 2026 following a verbal dispute. The woman suffered severe injuries. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large, though pre-trial detention has been ordered.

Both cases are being handled by the State Attorney's Office in Slavonski Brod. The investigation into the second incident is ongoing, and authorities are actively searching for the 49-year-old suspect.
