Vietnamese Singer Tăng Nhật Tuệ Arrested in Major Drug Bust; Admits Guilt, Says He 'Lost Everything'

Vietnamese singer and songwriter Tăng Nhật Tuệ, whose legal name is Lê Duy Linh, has been arrested in Ho Chi Minh City in connection with a major drug trafficking and usage ring. The artist, facing serious charges, has publicly confessed and expressed profound remorse for his actions.

At the police station, Linh, 40, admitted his involvement in drug-related activities. He appeared deeply distressed, stating, "After this incident, I have lost everything. And perhaps in the future, I will not have many opportunities to do the work I used to. I hope you all look at everything very seriously. Let's stay away from drugs. That's all I want to remind you of."

The arrest is a significant development in a broader investigation by the HCM City Police's Narcotics Crimes Investigation Division. The operation targeted a network allegedly involved in the illegal purchase, storage, and organization of drug use. Authorities reported that the network utilized high-end apartments, rented properties, and isolated houses to host small, private drug parties, aiming to evade law enforcement.

In total, 48 individuals were apprehended as part of this operation. Police identified Trần Nhật Quang, 27, as a key figure suspected of drug dealing at a hotel, which led to the unraveling of the network. Further investigation pointed to Nguyễn Bảo Ân, 31, as the alleged supplier of narcotics for Quang. Among those detained were Lê Duy Linh and Trần Khánh Duy, who are accused of organizing illegal drug use. Linh faces an additional charge of illegal drug possession.

Authorities seized a substantial quantity of methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA, along with 49 mobile phones and other related paraphernalia. Preliminary drug tests indicated that most of the arrested individuals tested positive for narcotics. Currently, 39 individuals, including Tăng Nhật Tuệ, are being prosecuted for drug trafficking, organization of drug use, and possession. The remaining nine individuals will undergo mandatory drug rehabilitation.
