Vietnamese YouTuber arrested for alleged knife attack in India

A popular Vietnamese YouTuber, identified by the online handle 'THIÊN BÁO SBC BIÊN HÒA,' has been arrested and charged with intentionally causing injury. The Dong Nai City Police initiated the legal proceedings, detaining Nguyen Manh Hung, 46, on July 3rd.

The charges relate to an alleged stabbing incident that took place on June 11, 2025, in Bodh Gaya, India. According to the police, Hung attacked another YouTuber, Nguyen Quy Dau (also known as Dau Nguyen TV), with a knife, inflicting serious injuries to his hand. The victim required immediate medical attention in India and subsequently filed a complaint upon returning to Vietnam for treatment.

Authorities stated that Hung, who also uses various other social media aliases, frequently posts and comments on sensitive social issues, including the controversial pilgrimage of Buddhist monk Le Anh Tu, also known as 'Thich Minh Tue.' The incident in India reportedly involved a conflict between two groups of Vietnamese YouTubers who were following the monk's journey. The Dong Nai City Police are continuing their investigation to gather further evidence and ensure Hung is prosecuted according to the law.
