Vigilant resident, swift Police response aid recovery of pistol, car

A vigilant resident's timely report led to the recovery of a Beretta pistol concealed near Brave Rock Sport/Recreational Park in Gombe's New GRA area. The Gombe State Police Command responded promptly after the concerned citizen alerted them to the hidden firearm, which was found with an empty magazine.

Detectives immediately secured the scene, and an investigation is underway to determine the pistol's ownership and the circumstances surrounding its concealment. The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the recovery and the ongoing investigation.

In a separate incident, police operatives successfully recovered a stolen 2010 Toyota Camry. The recovery was the result of a coordinated response involving the Police Control Room and officers from the Dukku Division. The suspect abandoned the vehicle and escaped when police officers began closing in on him.

During the operation, a bunch of fabricated master keys and other suspicious items were found inside the abandoned vehicle. Authorities suspect these keys may have been used in multiple vehicle theft operations. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect and conclude the investigation.
