Vincent Pastore, the actor celebrated for his portrayal of Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero in the acclaimed television series "The Sopranos," has passed away at the age of 80. His manager, Robert Attermann, confirmed the news to CBS News, sharing a heartfelt statement about Pastore's life and career.

"To the world, he will always be remembered as the unforgettable 'Big Pussy,' but to those of us who knew him, he was so much more," Attermann said. He described Pastore as a passionate actor who was always encouraging, respectful, and generous with younger actors, offering guidance and support. Attermann also noted the deep personal loss he felt after representing Pastore for over three decades, highlighting his friend's loyalty, humor, and heart.

I had the privilege of representing Vinny for more than 30 years, long before The Sopranos made him a household name. To the world, he will always be remembered as the unforgettable 'Big Pussy,' but to those of us who knew him, he was so much more.

Pastore was found dead in his Bronx home on Saturday afternoon, with authorities indicating no signs of foul play. Born in the Bronx on July 14, 1946, Pastore served in the Vietnam War before earning a degree in drama from Pace University. His early career included roles in iconic films such as "Goodfellas," "Carlito's Way," and "Men of Respect."

His extensive television work included appearances on "Celebrity Apprentice," "Law & Order," "Blue Bloods," and "Hawaii Five-0," among others. He was a series regular on "Gravesend" in 2022 and guest-starred on "Yellowjackets" in 2025. In 2000, Pastore and his "The Sopranos" castmates received the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, earning another nomination the following year.
