Venezuela's women's national football team will vie for the bronze medal after a narrow defeat to Colombia in the Central American and Caribbean Games semifinals. The Vinotinto fell 3-4 in a penalty shootout following a hard-fought 2-2 draw on August 4th, ending their bid for a spot in the final.

The match saw Venezuela take an early lead thanks to Génesis Florez, who continued her impressive scoring streak by finding the net for the fourth game in a row. Verónica Herrera extended Venezuela's advantage with a header from a free-kick. Colombia managed to pull one back before halftime and secured the equalizer in the second half, forcing the game into penalties.

In the decisive penalty shootout, Venezuela's hopes were dashed when Melanie Chirinos's shot hit the post. This miss proved costly, as Colombia converted their subsequent penalty to secure their place in the final. Venezuela will now face an as-yet-unnamed opponent on August 6th to determine the third-place finisher.
